Three weeks. Four thousand frames. One book.
The trip is already in your pocket. What is missing is somebody willing to sit down and find it. Send the whole camera roll — we curate it, design it and bind it.
A holiday camera roll is not a story yet
A wedding gallery arrives pre-edited by a professional. A trip does not. What you have instead is eleven near-identical shots of the same harbour, a run of blurry pictures from a moving train, four hundred frames from the one day the light was extraordinary, and — buried somewhere in the middle — about ninety photographs that are genuinely the trip.
Finding those ninety is the entire job, and it is why holiday photo books get started and abandoned more than any other kind. Nobody wants to grade their own holiday.
What we do with a trip
- Give it a shape. Most trips have one naturally — a route, an arc, a first morning and a last evening. We find it and let the book follow it, rather than sorting strictly by timestamp.
- Cut ruthlessly, then put two things back. Eleven harbour shots become one. But the out-of-focus one taken at three in the morning stays, because it is the only picture of that night.
- Let the landscape be big. Our pages open completely flat, so a wide frame can run across a full spread without disappearing into the gutter. This matters far more for travel than for anything else we design.
- Mix the phone and the camera. Modern phone files hold up beautifully in print at album size. We will tell you if something genuinely cannot be printed large, rather than silently shrinking it.
Which book suits a trip
For travel we usually point people at the Everyday Book rather than the flagship. It takes up to 65 spreads — 130 pages — which is what a long trip actually needs, and it is lighter in the hand for something you will pass around rather than shelve. If the trip was the honeymoon, the Heritage Album is the more usual choice, often bound to match the wedding album in the same cover material.
| Trip | Usual book | Usual length |
|---|---|---|
| Long trip, several countries | Everyday Book, 10×10 | 40–65 spreads |
| Honeymoon | Heritage Album, 8×8 or 10×10 | 15–25 spreads |
| A single week | Everyday Book, 8×8 | 15–25 spreads |
| One extraordinary day | Matted Album or a print box | 10–20 images |
Prints and frames from the same set
Travel photographs are the ones most likely to end up on a wall, and a curated set is halfway to a hanging already. Anything in your gallery can be printed on silver halide, on twelve-colour pigment fine art paper, or on the same fine art stock with the edge torn by hand — and framed in real wood, matted, deckled or floating. See prints, boxes and frames.
How to start
Leave your email and we will send a free private gallery link. Drag the trip in — all of it, including the bad ones. Tell us roughly where you went and anything we would not guess from the pictures, and you will have a designed album to look at within three to five working days. It costs nothing and you are not committed to anything.
Two free things, before you decide anything
A private online gallery for your photographs, and a designed album to page through. Leave your email and we will send you a single upload link — your design follows in three to five working days.
